Here we are now!
Hi, here we are: Collectief Koppig. An art collective in the middle of Presikhaaf 1, behind the Dekamarkt. We've been around for a while, but now we're finally stepping out with our heads! We're doing that through this magazine. Here you can read stories from Presikhaaf and get art for your wall.
For this first edition we made a collection of our adventures, projects, plans and arts. HOORAY! We are proud of what has already been done and what will happen in the future. Together we are making the neighborhood a bit more beautiful: all of us, residents, children and organizations.
JOIN IN!
After this there will be three more editions. That means there is still lots of room for your own drawing, ideas or tips! What do you think should be in the next edition? Send it to info@collectiefkoppig.nl or just drop by at Scheldestraat 24.
Enjoy reading and watching our first KOPmagazine!
THE ANT OF NIELS
We want a very large ant at the door of our headquarters. Why, you ask? Well, here's why:
ANTS are long-winded, just like us. Koppig has been around for a while, but it wasn't without its struggles. Now we are finally at the point where we can really do what we are good at: devise and organize art and social projects.
ANTS always work together! Because they work together they are stronger, everyone has their own task, and they can even float if they hook together. Now that's collective work! Just like we do at KOPPIG.
ANTS have few enemies. That is why an ant colony can live a long time. We at Koppig also have the tendency to work together with everyone instead of working against each other. We live and work in Arnhem and our community is too small not to go out and connect with each other.
ANTS have two stomachs: one for themselves and one to feed another ant. At Koppig we take care of each other and learn from each other. By solving problems and celebrating beautiful moments together, we've become a collective that cares for one another and for the neighborhood.
With our anthill we want to make the neighborhood even more beautiful and enjoyable. That is why we dream of a mega large ant, right in front of the entrance to our anthill (our headquarters). Everyone can meet, support each other at the ant and show that Presikhavers care for each other.
The ant is made by our neighbor: Niels van Bunningen of the kw37 workshop. He makes super large sculptures from steel. Steel can take a beating, just like the ant. And just like us, as a collective. We hope to give this ant a place in P1!
Tunnel Vision
Have you seen it yet? The tunnel between Presikhaaf and Plattenburg has been transformed into a collaborative work of art by the children of the Jozef Sartoschool! We are proud of this outdoor gem and we even made it onto the youth news with the kids.
Now and then, someone scribbles on it, but we don't see that as a problem. It just means it's time to bring out the paint again, and the tunnel slowly transforms, layer by layer. It's a piece of art that's never truly finished. And we love that!
VASEVIEW
Amber Malaïka Hyacinth painted her view from our headquarters on this vase. Do you recognize the street?
Pearl of Presikhaaf
New fans for Telefan: Koppig visits telefoniemuseum in Presikhaaf
At the corner of the large intersection near the shopping center stands a mysterious building: a bit gloomy and closed, as if nothing ever happens there. But did you know that this was the telephone exchange of Presikhaaf? And that there is now a real museum in it? A delegation from Collectief Koppig visited Telefan (Telefonie Arnhem Nijmegen) and came out with a HEAD full of telephony facts. We are fans of Telefan!
Rosa received the 1981 book “Honderd jaar telefoon” and decided that she wanted to study Communication Sciences.
Rosa
“It was an experience to never forget. Telefan is a loving landscape full of telephony knowledge like you won't find anywhere else. I have rarely seen so much information together. The best thing about our visit is that I now know what is going on in this building. The least fun thing is that I would like to have a transparent bright green telephone or one with fluff, but that is not practical at all to use. Moreover, I hate making phone calls.”
Simon (left) and Telefan's logo, which consists of the bridges of Arnhem and Nijmegen.
Simon
“I unexpectedly learned a lot about a world I know nothing about. Bonus points for marrow bones and coffee. I've definitely become a fan of Telefan.”
Kees: nostalgia in an old phone booth.
Kees
“As a lover of history, technology and design, everything comes together at the Telefan Museum. With long anecdotes about the operation of long-forgotten telephone connections. Furthermore, much recognition for those who have ever called with a landline. With nostalgia we think back to the heyday of telephony.”
Lotte listens to The Beatles via the Telefan Wonderphone.
Lotte
“In every corner there were things to see that I recognized from the past and from films. What I really liked was holding one of the very first Arnhem telephone books in my hands. And to see how you were connected to someone else via the telephone exchange (a long time ago). But the absolute best thing was the Telefan Wonderfoon: dial a number, and it plays you a song! With my favorite music by The Beatles.”
The junior visitor received the full attention from the lovely volunteers.
Rifka: “I liked the cookies!”
Want to become a TeleFAN, too?
Telefan is open every Tuesday from 10:30 am to 16:30 pm. The address is Singravenlaan 2.
KOPZORGEN
Give us your worries and get out of your head
Hello, we are Liese (from Studio Geen Problem) and Rosa (from Collectief Koppig) and together we are (and have) Kopzorgen (‘headaches’) → Artists/teachers/artist educators/artist teachers, we don't really care what you want to call us, we mainly just want to give space where there isn't always space. Space to play with what art is or could be and may be inside and outside the classroom. Thanks to our manic well-being brain, we can embrace chaos together with students/participants/environment, give a place to problems, normalize-unlearn and with self-will while stumbling over our own vulnerability to make unexpected things (or create because that sounds better) ;)

Hand in this coloring page colored before June 30th and receive a KOPPIG goodiebag! Put it in the mailbox or stop by at Scheldestraat 24. Don't forget to fill in your name and address!
Meiden University
Meiden University is a place where girls from Presikhaaf chill out, play sports and have fun together. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays there is a study hour, super handy if you have serious school work to do. On Tuesdays after sports, there's a girls night which is super fun and we always do activities just for the fun. On Sundays it's time to play football with friends, have fun and chat.

Training with Amber is everything above and much more.
Amber can always sympathize with you, whether you had a nice or bad day. She can always chat with you, but if you don't feel like it, you can always train together in silence. If you've had a bad day and you exercise, you always come home feeling better and happier. She remembers the things you've told her and the exercises you like to do.
Together we have fun, we help each other and above all we work out in a place where you can always trust each other and where you can be yourself. I enjoy going every week and I will continue to do so for a long time to come!
– Sarah

What is Vak Apart?
Vak apart is a group of students who do an internship at collectief koppig. We are given the space to do and undertake our own things together with koppig.
A fun Ant fact!
Ants are as old as dinosaurs. They were first discovered 130 million years ago and survived the Ice Age!
What do we do with Vak Apart?
We at Vak Apart help organize and maintain activities, workshops, festivals and much more! We also work on our own projects and help out when needed!
Buitenspelennn!!!! (playing outside)

Brand-new art collective active in Over het lange water
It started with a drawing in my mailbox: a star in red ballpoint pen, colored in with grass-green colored pencil. Around it four smaller stars and the text: “LOVE I am voc14oc. this is my drawing”. Where did that drawing suddenly come from? And what artist was behind that crazy name?
While my head was still full of questions, new sidewalk chalk drawings appeared in the street every day. On the sidewalk, on the wall and in the parking lot. Abstract color areas and patterns, as well as a series of clowns and a hedgehog with the body of a human. In several places, handprints of the artists could be seen. Still I had no idea who they were.
One day I ran into my neighbours Chloé, Esmé and Sevda at the front door, chalk in hand. “Did you get a drawing, too? Which one did you have?”, they asked. It turned out that voc14oc was the alter ego of artist Sevda!
The next day I almost tripped over a large box of chalk on the stairs to my house. One flight of stairs further I suddenly found myself face to face with artist Hamdi. Patiently waiting for Chloé and Esmé to come outside to continue working on their joint artwork with the chalk.
A few days later there was another drawing in my mailbox. This time with wild scratches in a green ballpoint pen. I don't know who made the drawing, but now I really fely like getting my colored pencils out myself. I drew a few flowers on a sheet of paper, wrote on the back “thanks for the drawings!” and put it in the mailbox of artists Chloé and Esmé.
In the meantime I was working on this art newspaper. I thought that this new collective of young talents from Over het lange water should not be missing, so I asked the artists if I could put photos of their artwork in it. A few days later I found a card in my mailbox with flowers on the front and a portrait of me on the inside. And: a newspaper!
The art collective of Over the long water consists of Esmé, Chloé, Sevda, Vili and Hamdi.
The End.
